Through my window Written by rules640 This poem is in response to Colleen’s Weekly #Tanka #Poetry Prompt Challenge #8 – TIME & LAUGHTER And I again messed up with the syllable count.😑 Advertisements Share this:TwitterFacebookGoogleLike this:Like Loading... 6 thoughts on “Through my window” A lovely poem, my friend. Remember to follow the 5/7/5/7/7 syllables for each line in order for it to be a Tanka. Here is a site I tell you about in each of my posts that will count the syllables for you: https://www.howmanysyllables.com/words/finally. Click on the workshop tab and type your Tanka onto the page and click the button at the bottom to get the syllable count. ❤ LikeLiked by 1 person Reply Thank you for the suggestions. Yes I messed up with the syllable count. I actually went to that site mentioned in your post and got my syllable count checked even before publishing this post but What happened is that if I stuck to syllable count l fell short of expressing my feelings through my poem. Sooo…😑 I know the syllable count is really important for a Tanka Poem. I will try to stick to the next time. If you read today’s prompt post, I give detailed instructions on how to write a Tanka. That should help you. Keep going… you’re so close. ❤ LikeLiked by 1 person Thanks. I would definitely try to stick to the syllable count the next time I write a Tanka Poem. LikeLiked by 1 person Take your time with it, and enjoy.
