The highly anticipating conclusion to the Revelations series is out now!

ON A PALE HORSE

(Revelations Book Four)

BY MONICA CORWIN

SYNOPSIS
And behold a pale horse that carried the name death….
Management of The Underground, a New York club with a reputation for delivering a host of guilty pleasures, could have been a whole lot more fun if Cloris didn’t spend half that time avoiding Hades. Despite the burning attraction to the former God of the Underworld, she still harbors a nagging fear that her advances could rekindle the disturbing experiences of Hel’s hospitality. But when the four horsemen discover that it may be possible to hang up their mantels for good, Cloris is torn between her desire to no longer be a horseman and her hesitation that she could be anything other than death….

Regardless of the scars he gathered from enduring time at the hands of Hel, Hades craves nothing more than to immerse himself in Cloris’s attentions. Frustrated by his inability to convince her that he desires her in every imaginable way, he fears she only sees him as damaged or worthless. But when the horsemen decide to truly embrace mortality, he realizes that he will have to move quickly… or risk losing her forever.

In a race to the end, can Cloris and Hades embrace the love they could possibly share or will their stubbornness doom the horseman to live a life worse than death —remaining horseman forever?

Chills: Book Review

chills cover

CHILLS: A SHORT STORY COLLECTION

by Sahar Sabati

Genre: Suspense, Adult

Release Date: 17 October 2013

SYNOPSIS

The same people are impossibly spotted in two different places at once; a man considers murdering the husband of a woman he loves; while driving home very early in the morning, a driverless car appears out of the fog and follows two sisters home. Fear of the unknown, emotional intensity, and plain old creepiness will give you chills long after you have finished reading the seven stories in this collection.

REVIEW

True to its title, Chills actually gave me chills. All the stories quickened my heart rate and kept me at the edge of my seat.

Each time each story neared its climax, I used to grab whatever is near me to be prepared for the goosebumps that would cover my body and the chills that would run down my spine. And I have to admit it that none of the stories disappointed me in this, because all the stories had shivers running down my back. All the stories successfully scared me and had my heart on the verge of jumping out of its ribcage.

“Not knowing felt, after all, like the worse part of the situation. I slowly leaned down again, peered under the door – and made contact with a pair of startling green eyes.”

The excerpt above is the part of my favourite story from this collection. After reading this story, I am completely assured that these pair of eyes are definitely going to haunt me in my dreams.

All the stories of this collection are unique, and each one is different from the rest. These stories are not only different in the sense of storyline but also in the sense of genre, as some of the stories were supernatural while some were related to crime or criminals and some were mixture of both.

The main characters of each story are really well built and I could relate to them instantly even though some characters were way older than me.

If you’re a fan of scary suspense stories and if you believe that you can keep your heart in your ribcage safely while reading this book then this short story collection is definitely for you.

Soaking in the Cure: Mini Book Review

SOAKING IN THE CURE

(Lorem University#2)

By Anna Viola-Peg

Genres: Erotica, Romance

SYNOPSIS

A sexy short story about a woman who has lost her ability to feel arousal and the doctor who goes out of his way to help her reclaim her femininity.

Louise is a female who suffers with HSDD (Hypoactive sexual desire disorder). After turbulence in her life makes her lose all desire for intimacy, she throws herself into her job until one faithful day she receives an email claiming there is a cure.

Dr Michael Hunter has dedicated his life to research and when his trial starts going astray, he finds himself making too many emergency house calls to try and help his new patients. One of them, Ms Louise Hill, presents a particularly interesting case.

Anna Viola-Peg’s second story ‘Soaking in the Cure’ is 7000 words of hot scenes with a sprinkle of romance to spice up the famous taboo fantasy.

REVIEW

Louise is a 31 yr old woman suffering from HSDD. She signed up for a trial that claims to cure HSDD but the doctor’s assistant injected her with a dose of medicine that made her too much aroused. Not finding a solution to her problem she called the doctor in charge, Michael, to her house….

“Disappointment was mixed with an improper longing for the woman that was waiting for him. She was alone, probably scared and very, very aroused.”

Soaking in the cure first heats you with the act of pleasuring oneself and with lot of sex and then makes you smile when you encounter the dash of romance thrown into it. This short story is surely going to leave you with a happy feeling.

Soaking in the cure is a nice erotic short story with an innovative concept and likeable characters that I would like to recommend to all erotic lovers.

Again a free Shower

“Again a free shower!” The crow exclaimed.

“Yeah, at least you don’t have clothes on, or they would have dried on your body, giving you a nasty cold.”

The crow looked at the concrete statue, his speaker, “Oh! You have just one fibre of cloth on you, and that too made up of concrete, how can that dry and give you a cold?”

“Each time it rains, you fly off just before it starts pouring to find a shelter, how would you know what happens after? That little girl across the street comes running and puts a shawl around my shoulders along with a small umbrella on my head, and says, ‘I don’t want to see you get wet, Grandpa’ …..Each time she comes hurrying, I wish it would her mother’s umbrella she would bring and not hers, it’s too small for me.”

“Um… at least you have someone who cares, unlike me… Actually her actions are noble, just not very fruitful….”

“Yes, I know, that’s why I love her….” His voice trailed off as the sky started crying.

He looked across the street, and spotted the little girl coming towards her…. He tried smiling….. but concrete, Ah! that’s pretty solid……

Nelumbo Nucifera: Book Review

NELUMBO NUCIFERA

By Cristina Slough

Genres: Mystery/Thriller, Romance

SYNOPSIS

On the surface, Gaby Parker has it all; however, behind closed doors, is a woman who lives in constant fear of the man who was supposed to love her: her husband, Kyle. Beaten, desperate, and broken, Gaby realizes the only way to escape from her violent husband is to kill herself — on paper. Gaby is dead, and Riley Locklin is born, residing in the tranquil coastal town of Chesswick Bay Montauk where she hopes to start over and meets a man who shows her bruises aren’t kisses.

Meanwhile, back home, Kyle is doing everything in his power to prove Gaby isn’t dead.

But…police find her burnt-out car and remains?

Kyle isn’t buying it; he knows she’s still alive. He launches his own full investigation to find his wife — and he’ll stop at nothing to claim her back. A female Detective assigned to his wife’s case doesn’t like him very much after discovering a domestic violence report – scorned by the history of her mother’s domestic abuse, she’s determined to send Kyle down for his wife’s murder.

And then he finds her. Will Gaby finally take a stand?

This book contains themes that some readers may find disturbing. Contains possible triggers.

REVIEW

For a long time I had not been able to put my thoughts together, because I was feeling a lot of emotions at once. I even thought of not reviewing then again I had to share with you people, what I felt about this highly intense book.

I have to admit that Gaby is a really strong woman because she got the courage to leave that husband who not only hit her body, but also her soul. He stripped her of her self esteem, made her hollow. I agree she suffered abuse for a long time, NO, she didn’t walk out the first time it happened, but at least she was brave enough to do it, she loved herself enough to finally move out, even though she knew if she got caught then her husband would probably kill her.

Kyle, hmmm…., there were so many instances when I felt like holding this man and throwing him out of the window and then again picking him up to repeat. He never saw anything wrong with his actions, he thought that he was saving Gaby from disappointment by crushing her dream of becoming an artist, he thought by dictating her every move, by stealing her freedom, and in return giving her materialistic pleasure of clothes, house, cars, etc he was giving her a perfect life. I agree that Kyle had a bad childhood, but nothing accounts for the monster he was, the pain that he caused Gaby.

There were many instances in this story where l felt my eyes pooling with tears. There were many emotional moments in this book especially when Gaby thought about all the humiliations she suffered.

Another thing that l loved about the novel was the sweet love story between Ben and Gaby. Even though I felt that Gaby fell in love with Ben little too quickly for a woman who just came out of a bad marriage, but still the love story was sweet and a heartwarming.

Apart from the main story of Gaby, there is also a side story of the detective in charge, Isla. In the process of saving Gaby, she saved herself. Isla’s story is like a short story, in the novel, where she finally shredded the shakles of the past holding her.

Nelumbo Nucifera will always hold a very special place in my heart.

I highly recommend this book.

Maze

maze was my idea of fun till I encountered this one. Not a guide, not another person, as if the maze was invented just for me, for me to discover, for me to reach its end. A maze that had many routes, each leading to the same destination but with a different path, with a different struggle, some are difficult ones, some are easy, but the once I choose a path, I can never trace back, I have to move forward and encounter a different road. Sure people can help from outside from the perspective of their maze, what they say might be the correct solution to their maze but not of mine. In all this the only trouble is it’s never ending. This maze called life begins, but the destination is never found because life is a journey…..
