Trusting Tanner

by Lexi Lawton

The Collins Brothers #1

Publication Date: May 8, 2017

Genres: Adult, Entangled: Embrace, Contemporary, Romance

Tanner Collins is the embodiment of perfection—tall, dark, sinfully sexy—and completely out of Juliana Shea’s league. Knowing she’d never survive a repeat of her last disastrous relationship, she parks Tanner firmly in the friend zone. But man, he’s hard to resist.

Juliana is exactly what Tanner wants, and he’s determined to win her over with his kindness and humor… But one night—a night he can’t even remember—threatens to take it all away.

With the flick of a “send” button, their hope for a future together is shattered. But Tanner isn’t the type to give up on what he wants—and he wants Juliana.

Where do I even start I don’t know….. If I have to explain in one word (umm.. phrase) everything l am going to write in this moderately long review then I would say I loved Trusting Tanner. Right from the characters to the story line this novel touched my heart and tugged at all its strings possible.

Starting the review, first I would like to give the glimpse of the two awesome main characters, Tanner and Juliana. Tanner is a college student, tall, handsome, physically a epitome of perfection that every girl dreams off but the best part about him was his lovely heart.

Coming to Juliana, I can’t just tell you how much I loved her. As the novel progressed I started loving her even more. Juliana lost her parents when she was very young, from then she had gone from one foster home to other, the pain and the loneliness she has experienced ever since was very well described in this novel. She didn’t trust anyone easily and when she did and that person crushed her trust along with her heart into million pieces, the overwhelming emotions that she experienced, was so well expressed through the author’s words that I could myself feel them as if I was right there.

“She cried for her parents, for herself, for Tanner. For the future they could never have.”

There were many sweet moments in this love story of Tanner and Juliana that brought a smile on my face, and warmed my heart in every way possible. Then their were also some really funny moments, especially in the beginning, the way flirted, made me laugh. And their were some tear inducing, heart breaking moments too.

“Whether we’re together or not, it doesn’t matter. My parents love you. My brothers love you. I love you.”

Xander is a special mention, I supposed him to be just an add on, but he turned out to be a pure gem. I can’t just wait to read this Collin brother’s love story.

To be true, I won’t say I absolutely loved this book right from the beginning. But as the story progressed, I think the last 40% just made this novel top the charts of my recently favourite romance reads.

I am going to rate this book 4.5 stars, I had to deduct this 0.5 stars because I just expected a bit more from Devon’s character. I expected a bit more action on his part. Anyway I still would say this is one of my best romance reads that I would recommend to all the romance lovers out there.

“He wasn’t just kissing her. He was devouring her. Drinking from her like she was the nectar of life and he would die without her.”

The swarm of butterflies from earlier reappeared in her belly, and she took a slow breath. She’d never been on a non-date with a guy she liked as much as she liked Tanner, and she had no idea what was supposed to happen now. A hearty handshake and a good night? A pat on the back and a see ya later?
“When you get lost in your thoughts, your brows furrow.” He tilted his head, studying her intently. “Not a lot, but an adorable little pull right here.” He ran his finger between her eyebrows and down her nose. “Want to tell me what you were thinking about?”
“No.” Absolutely not. No way in hell.
“Hmm.” He pursed his lips thoughtfully. “It’s really a shame this isn’t a date.”
Don’t ask. “Why?” Seriously, what was the point of having a rational inner voice if she was never going to listen to it?
“Because if this were a date, I could give you a kiss good night. And believe me, you want a taste of this.” He swirled his finger around his lips. “But I should warn you, one taste won’t be enough. They’re like potato chips.”
“Did you just compare your lips to potato chips?” She had to have misheard him. But the upward curve of his mouth told her she hadn’t. She laughed. “You really ought to seek some professional help for your lack of self-confidence.”

Mami: Cover Reveal

MAMI, based on a true story

Readers asked for it, and JC Valentine has delivered!

Life has thrown me a few curveballs…

But nothing as sexy or devastating as Alejandro.

I never thought I’d see him again, but fate has seen fit to give us another chance.

Maybe this time we’ll get it right. Maybe this time he’ll stay.

Or perhaps my heart is about to be irrevocably shattered.

One way or another, our lives are about to change.

Only time will tell if it’s for better or worse, but one thing is certain…

Alejandro is a force to be reckoned with…maybe even best to be avoided.

But when it comes to matters of the heart, sometimes there’s no reasoning.

Sometimes…it’s pure instinct.

Taking a chance on him is like playing Russian roulette—it’s dangerous…foolish…and likely to kill me.

But what’s life without a little risk?

Silence persists, and my heart thunders in my ears as I wait to hear what he has to say next. I feel as though we’re standing on a precipice, and the worst thing is, I have no clue what awaits me on either side of it. No matter which way it goes, I’m going to fall—hard.

“I really missed you,” Alejandro says, and suddenly, it’s as if I can finally breathe again.

That’s it. I can’t stand it anymore. Even the console is too much distance. Taking matters into my own hands, I unsnap my seatbelt, Put the coffee cup on the dashboard, and lean over. Cupping his jaw, I kiss him with everything I’ve got. He needs to know how much I missed him, too, and no words would ever do it justice. Instead, I show him.

With him holding the back of my head and me holding his face, we throw ourselves into the kiss. Between us, our fingers twine together on the console…but it just doesn’t feel close enough.

I allow my hand to roam down to his neck, feeling the corded muscles, his rapid pulse beating against my palm, then I move lower to his chest, his waist, around to his back. I grip his shirt tight, fighting the need to pull him closer.

He’s not fairing any better. Transferring his hand to my thigh, Alejandro curls his fingers under my knee and hitches my leg up. I know what he wants. It’s the same thing I want. Maybe more.

Briefly, I consider telling him no, but I can’t bring myself to do that. There’s no denying him. “Come here,” he murmurs against my mouth as he tugs me to him, guiding the way.

In the back of my head a voice screams that we’re going to get caught, but I’m already climbing into his lap, bracketing his legs with my own as he pushes the seat as far back as it will go to make room.

My ass hits the horn, and it blares into the quiet morning. We both glance up and around, as if two teenagers about to get caught. But it’s just us. I grin then pull him back to me for another kiss. I can’t get enough of this man.

His hands are under my shirt, cupping my breasts. The heat of his palms is an aphrodisiac in itself, but the taste of him on my tongue and the hard ridge of his cock between my legs is what threatens to send me over the edge.

BDSM Therapy: Book Review

By Nora Skye

Genre: Erotica, Romance

Publication date: 23rd March 2017

For Danielle Jones, a twenty-two years old graphic designer, life would be good… if it wasn’t for the anxiety disorder and panic attacks. Every day is a struggle for her, and nothing seems to be helping. She has tried every form of therapy.

At least, that’s what she thought.

When one day her best friend, Camille, tells her that she discovered a new, unconventional method of therapy, Danielle decides to give it a shot. She agrees to be taken to a famous BDSM club, The Rogue, where Camille introduces her to a professional Dominant named Jacob.

Dani’s terrified. The six-feet tall, thirty-seven year old man looks like a total barbarian, with broad shoulders, muscles like a WWE wrestler and a stern face… But when he agrees to take Danielle under his wing and then slowly starts to ease her into the world of Submission, she discovers that there’s a fun and charming man hiding under the facade of a brute.
Jacob’s rough, strong and… unbelievably hot. The way he orders Danielle around, the way he pleasures her body and disciplines her mind, is mindblowing.

After a few sizzling-hot sessions with the Dom, Dani realizes that they’re, indeed, helping her with her anxiety. She also discovers that she starts to fall for Jacob. She wants him not only as her Dominant, but also as her man…

But Jacob has a secret. A secret that keeps him from opening his heart to the young woman.

Will Danielle manage to make the man of her dreams let her into his life? Will they give in to the feelings that are there between them? Will Jacob realize that Danielle is the one, before it’s too late?

BDSM Therapy has a very different, unconventional solution to the anxiety problem; though it is not a real technique, something which can only be imagined but still this unconventional concept makes this story very unique.

Coming to the main characters, Jacob and Danielle, both the characters are well built and very likeable too. Jacob is a guy who is very confident about himself, his abilities, he looks like MMA player, he is tough, he is rough but he also has a soft side to him, the caring, the loving side. All these attributes really make him so adorable, and Danielle so enviable.

I was able to relate to Danielle’s character instantly and was able to feel her pain caused by anxiety and panic attacks, because I don’t about my readers but I have suffered from anxiety problem, though not panic attacks, so I kind of know how much of a trouble anxiety is. I also loved the way the author described Danielle’s different feelings and sensations.

“Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night, my body shaking and cold shivers running down my spine. Unable to get terrible thoughts out of my head, I suffer, both mentally and physically.” ~ Danielle

Apart from the main characters I also loved Camille’s character because she is a really good friend, someone Danielle could share her problems with.

BDSM Therapy is one those erotic reads that has a STORY, and in this case, a nice love story of Jacob and Danielle. I agree this book is steamy, it has mention of whipping, spanking, the name only says BDSM Therapy so it should have these, but this is not everything this novella is composed of.

“That I like you, Danielle. That I’ve fallen for you. Because the sole thought of you with another man…”~Jacob

Had to add, BDSM Therapy has a lot of sexual tension and the BDSM part of this novel is good, actually very good.

Overall I would say BDSM Therapy is quite a enjoyable read that I would recommend to all erotic romance lovers.

(-1 because BDSM therapy is nice book, totally worth reading but it is a notch less than excellent)

Just another 27 years old coffee addict, living in the US. I’m a huge 90’s enthusiast (to American Scienists: please invent time travel already!). I enjoy reading books in general, but my favorite genres are romance, erotica and science fiction. Although I absolutely love complementing my reality with sexy, fictional men, I am happily in love with one particular man in real life.

If you, like me, love loosing yourself in the world of fantasy, when all of our hidden desires can come true, feel free to check out my books. You’ll find a great dose of romance in them, mixed with erotic themes.
