REVIEW

The Good Doctor is a sweet love story that will pull at your heart strings and make you feel really good and positive. It would make you feel, that good is still present and even if you have been in darkness for long, light will always be there at the end of the tunnel and you would be able to come out of the darkness to have a beautiful tomorrow.

Enough of philosophical words!!!!! Coming back, I would like to talk about the three awesome characters of the story, those are Isabel, Adam and Isabel’s daughter, the sweet little girl Sophie. I think Sophie’s character was the best as per me, and am really happy that she had a major part in the book. She is a very sweet and intelligent girl.

Now coming to Adam. Adam is a perfect gentleman and I think he is someone who very girl would want her husband or boyfriend to be. He is patient, caring and could go to any extent to protect his two girls, Isabel and Sophie.

Isabel is a really well built character and I really liked her. I think if I talk more about Isabel then I would give out the the entire story and I don’t really want to do that.

“She pulls back just enough so she can look into my eyes and says, “I was lost until you found me.””

Final words:

If you are looking for your next read, and want that to be a romance which you won’t be able to put down until reaching the last page, then The Good Doctor is definitely for you.

 REVIEW

Where do I even start I don’t know….. If I have to explain in one word (umm.. phrase) everything l am going to write in this moderately long review then I would say I loved Trusting Tanner. Right from the characters to the story line this novel touched my heart and tugged at all its strings possible.

Starting the review, first I would like to give the glimpse of the two awesome main characters, Tanner and Juliana. Tanner is a college student, tall, handsome, physically a epitome of perfection that every girl dreams off but the best part about him was his lovely heart.

Coming to Juliana, I can’t just tell you how much I loved her. As the novel progressed I started loving her even more. Juliana lost her parents when she was very young, from then she had gone from one foster home to other, the pain and the loneliness she has experienced ever since was very well described in this novel. She didn’t trust anyone easily and when she did and that person crushed her trust along with her heart into million pieces, the overwhelming emotions that she experienced, was so well expressed through the author’s words that I could myself feel them as if I was right there.

“She cried for her parents, for herself, for Tanner. For the future they could never have.”

There were many sweet moments in this love story of Tanner and Juliana that brought a smile on my face, and warmed my heart in every way possible. Then their were also some really funny moments, especially in the beginning, the way flirted, made me laugh. And their were some tear inducing, heart breaking moments too.

“Whether we’re together or not, it doesn’t matter. My parents love you. My brothers love you. I love you.”

Xander is a special mention, I supposed him to be just an add on, but he turned out to be a pure gem. I can’t just wait to read this Collin brother’s love story.

To be true, I won’t say I absolutely loved this book right from the beginning. But as the story progressed, I think the last 40% just made this novel top the charts of my recently favourite romance reads.

I am going to rate this book 4.5 stars, I had to deduct this 0.5 stars because I just expected a bit more from Devon’s character. I expected a bit more action on his part. Anyway I still would say this is one of my best romance reads that I would recommend to all the romance lovers out there.

“He wasn’t just kissing her. He was devouring her. Drinking from her like she was the nectar of life and he would die without her.”

EXCERPT

The swarm of butterflies from earlier reappeared in her belly, and she took a slow breath. She’d never been on a non-date with a guy she liked as much as she liked Tanner, and she had no idea what was supposed to happen now. A hearty handshake and a good night? A pat on the back and a see ya later?
“When you get lost in your thoughts, your brows furrow.” He tilted his head, studying her intently. “Not a lot, but an adorable little pull right here.” He ran his finger between her eyebrows and down her nose. “Want to tell me what you were thinking about?”
“No.” Absolutely not. No way in hell.
“Hmm.” He pursed his lips thoughtfully. “It’s really a shame this isn’t a date.”
Don’t ask. “Why?” Seriously, what was the point of having a rational inner voice if she was never going to listen to it?
“Because if this were a date, I could give you a kiss good night. And believe me, you want a taste of this.” He swirled his finger around his lips. “But I should warn you, one taste won’t be enough. They’re like potato chips.”
“Did you just compare your lips to potato chips?” She had to have misheard him. But the upward curve of his mouth told her she hadn’t. She laughed. “You really ought to seek some professional help for your lack of self-confidence.”

Winter’s Kiss : Book Review

WINTER’S KISS

By Darlene Fredette

Publisher: Escape Publishing

Genre: Romance

SYNOPSIS

Return to beautiful Redford Falls: a woman who knows what she wants and a man who knows what he needs…

Nothing thaws the chill faster than a warm winter kiss…

She’s been on a flight from hell for over eight hours, lost four hours of daylight, and arrived in temperatures twenty degrees lower than accustomed to. Disliking winter for a reason she refuses to discuss, Danielle Lerato would rather be anywhere than in Redford Falls. She needs to get the job done and return home before getting caught up in the small town’s charm…and the arms of the handsome, brown-eyed restaurant owner.

Andrew Haley’s first encounter with the buttery blonde didn’t go so well, and he well-remembers the chill of the glass of water she dumped over his head. Now, two years later, a raging storm drops Danielle back into his life. She’s determined to leave, but he’ll do whatever it takes to convince her to fall in love with Redford Falls…and him.

REVIEW

Danielle’s boss shifted the business to Redford Falls and wanted Danielle to move there too but Danielle is adamant that she won’t do that. To change her mind and to bring her Redford Falls he asks Danielle to train a assistant who could work in her place, accepting this offer she visits Redford Falls. There she meets Andrew with whom she shares a not so pleasant incident of of her previous visit there but soon they both discover the other side of each other and find themselves falling for each other. However Danielle won’t stay….

“She couldn’t wait to begin every day just like this— in Andrew’s arms. ‘Everything I want and need is right here.’”

I liked both Danielle and Andrew’s characters. They both have faced the loss of their loved ones in their past and are coming out of it. I especially liked those parts where they talked their pasts and found a good listening ear in each other.

Other than Danielle and Andrew’s character I also liked Chloe’s, Andrew’s sister’s character, she is sweet young girl who helped Danielle and also become her really good friend.

Apart from the characters, I also liked those instances that gave a glimpse of the small town life in Redford Falls, how endearing and caring the people of the town are and how quickly a word spreads from one ear to other in this town.

Winter’s Kiss is a nice love story but not something extraordinary that l could go on raving about. The characters are likeable, the plot is good but still somehow it is not something that kept me up all night or had a pageturner effect. But if you love love stories and if you’re a fan of Clean Romances then I would definitely recommend it to you.

Corrupt Me – Book Review

CORRUPT ME

Luca’s defiance of the law turns Izzie on more than she cares to admit. She wants Luca to corrupt her in every way possible, despite his reputation as the king of one-night stands. Their attraction is undeniable, but their desire for one another isn’t enough for Izzie to overlook visits from federal agents and the potential ruin of her family.

Linked to Luca and a criminal underworld, Izzie discovers she’s more like him than she thought. But a future with Luca could mean swapping her diamond bracelets for a pair of handcuffs.

*Corrupt Me is a standalone novel that is the first book in the Philly Corruption series.*

REVIEW:

Luca Marchese, a Don’s son and Izzie, granddaughter of one of the richest man, know each other from the childhood. Back in the wine cellar they had their first kiss when they were still very young but soon after their families severed ties and and they got separated. They again meet eachother in the college, but Izzie kept her distance from him, because she is still a bit heartbroken and also because Luca’s manwhoring ways also came to Izzie’s ear. Also Izzie thought their families won’t agree if they start off anything between them. In senior year, Izzie bumps into Luca. Their attraction is undeniable and with Luca continuously pursuing her, Izzie may soon have to reconsider her decision to stay away from him…..

I would start off by saying that I liked both Luca and Izzie’s characters. Both had really strong personalities. Even though Luca’s father was a Don but he preferred to learn law and become a lawyer. Luca never wanted to be a criminal like his father. Izzie on the other hand, though she belonged to a rich household but she worked really hard to get into the college and also for the position in her family empire. She will never take any shit from anyone. I also liked her snappy comments.

I loved their love story. It was at place cute and funny, and at other times there were some really intense and passionate moments. I especially liked that part, where Izzie was drunk but Luca didn’t take the advantage of the situation, even when Izzie in her drunk state asked him to have sex with her.

For steam lovers, in the later half, there was also some really sexy in between sheets action.

“You are my family now. I’ve never felt like I was part of something, other than a company, until I met you. You are my everything. Without you, none of this matters to me .”~Izzie

This story also gives a kind of inside story of some big empires and how they work. I am not saying that whatever is told in this novel is the story of every other business empire, but is definitely for some. These big empires present their company as spotlessly clean but inside they can be really immoral and corrupt.

The last few chapters were especially very exciting with FBI behind Luca and Izzie’s grandfather and the only key to save them lies in Izzie’s hand, but there was a lot at stake for that key to be used. So how eventually things got sorted out, made the last bit interesting. Also some long kept secrets were spilled out and traitors in both sides were discovered.

Other than these I really liked some small characters like Luca’s mom, Mark, Luca’s friend among others.

Overall I would say I loved Corrupt Me and would recommend this book to all romance lovers.

EXCERPT

We’re not at this café for a normal lunch between a boyfriend and his loyal girlfriend. No, my dear, we’re here for an ambush. A bombshell. A catastrophic turn of events that’s about to turn my uneventful life upside down. And I’m supposed to have words at this point to speak?

What are words?

“Mila…”

Ethan utters my name, but I can’t peel my gaze away from the image in front of me. My tunnel vision is focused on the small grayscale picture he slid towards me with guilty eyes a few minutes ago. The picture next to the Cobb salad that will never be eaten and next to the iced tea covered in condensation dripping down the glass, crying for me.

The picture is actually perfectly clear. They say it’s hard to make out anything but blobs of gray in these things, that you can’t see much at this point. But they say a lot of things, like that love conquers all, and all you need is love. Whoever they are, they are full of shit.

I can see everything in the picture so perfectly. The tiny button nose, the delicate fingers, the rounded belly. I can make it all out just fine.

The baby in the ultrasound picture in front of me belongs to my boyfriend.

But the baby in the ultrasound picture doesn’t belong to me.

STUCK WITH ME

By Cassandra Piat

Genre
Romantic Comedy

Publisher

SYNOPSIS

Can your perspective on life, happiness and love really change in a week?

Molly, known for her unflagging optimism and constant cheeriness, is thrilled to win an all-expenses paid vacation to Mauritius. She packs her camera and a few colourful bikinis and can’t wait to have some fun in the sun. Little does she know there’s a catch.

Adam is a journalist on assignment and his mission is to test Molly’s optimism and see how far she can be pushed before she breaks. Surely it can’t be that hard?

What happens when Molly meets the hilariously cantankerous Adam and finds that she can’t seem to shake him? How will Adam successfully complete his task when faced with Molly’s beautiful smile, quick wit and curvaceous body?

As they bicker their way around the island, Adam and Molly realise that there’s more to each other than meets the eye. An unexpected friendship develops between them which soon turns into much more. But what will happen when Molly learns the truth behind Adam’s trip to Mauritius?

A heartfelt, funny and touching story about life, love, and happiness.

REVIEW

After a lot of different genres of book reviews I am again back with a romance book review, this one goes by the name of Stuck With Me, which is a romantic comedy set in Mauritius.

Adam is a sports journalist, he is asked to write an article for real life feature section of magazines because the usual writer has to leave for her mother’s sudden illness. Molly is chosen as the subject for the article. She is always smiling and Adam had to find out whether she is fundamentally happy, chooses to be happy or just pretends. He has to become the bane of her existence, be cranky and grouchy for the week they were scheduled to spent in Mauritius to see that how far she can keep her happy demeanour.

Molly is always smiling, she always looks at the positive side of everything. She chooses to be happy. But like every normal person she has her set of fears and problems. Her mother is anxious ever since her father died and often suffers from panic attacks, been the only child the responsibility of her mother is totally on her. She sometimes feel overwhelmed by all her problems but she tries to reminds herself of all the things she should be grateful for. I quite liked Molly’s character, she is someone I could take life lessons from. She is positive and strong despite her problems.

“I love catching that exact moment when the groom sets eyes on the bride as she walks into the church; the look of love and emotion passing between the parents as their daughter says her vows; the look of pure delight on a child’s face when opening a present, or even a burst of laughter between friends – perfect moments made everlasting by me . . .”
~Molly

Now coming to Adam he is also a very likeable character. I laughed through his cranky side and loved his friendly and caring side. He was always there to hold Molly tight. He helped her and also understood her when she wanted to take things slow between them.

There were some terribly funny moments especially during the first half of the novel. I laughed a lot throughout this part. But I would like to add that the book was not only funny, there were some really heart warming, intense moments that touched my heart. I absolutely loved Adam and Molly’s love story.

Finally I would like to add that I felt that this book could have been a bit shorter. Not that those extra pages made this novel boring but still it could have been shorter.

Overall I would say that I quite liked Stuck With Me and would surely recommend it to all romance lovers.

The Sheikh’s Forced Bride-Book Review

THE SHEIKH’S FORCED BRIDE
By Leslie North

The Sharjah Sheikhs#1

Publisher: Relay Publishing

Genres: Romance, Young Adult

SYNOPSIS

Sultan’s eledest son Sheikh Khalid Al-Qasimi’s playboy ways have finally caught up with him. After creating a scandal during a diplomatic visit to America, Khalid is given a choice by his father—marry or face banishment. Rather than lose his family, Khalid bows to his father’s wishes but an outspoken American interrupts Khalid’s would-be wedding. Now Khalid has a new plan that might please his father, secure his inheritance and leave Khalid still able to go on with his life …he’ll take the beautiful American as his bride—and then his father will hate her so much he’ll beg Khalid not to get married after all.

Journalist Casey Connolly has never been afraid to share her opinions. While researching an article on arranged marriages, she lands in trouble when she crashes a royal wedding to get a quote from the attending American guests.. The sexy groom offers to set her free if she’ll step into the role of his fiancée—just for a short time. Seeing a chance to get the scoop she needs, Casey agrees.

Soon there’s no denying the chemistry they share. But Casey’s boss is pushing her to complete her piece and head back to the States, while Khalid’s father is still pushing for a hasty wedding. Will this pseudo-romance become the real thing or buckle under all the pressure being put on these two?

REVIEW

I picked up this book because of two reasons firstly because I have never read a love story of Sheikhs and secondly because the description sounded too good.

Now jumping straight to my thoughts about this book.

Casey and Khalid’s love story has the common theme of the playboy finally finding his girl. But still the way it was told touched my heart. They both complimented each other. There were many passionate, intense and heartwarming moments and also some in between sheets action.

“Closing his eyes, he let the world fall away until it was just his body joined to hers. Their breaths— rough and uneven— becoming one.”

I quite liked Casey’s character. She is absolutely fearless, strong and spoke her mind. She is not someone who is easily oppressed by anyone. Now coming to Khalid’s character. He was also a likeable character. You people may think that Khalid will be a male chauvinist, but actually he respected women. He was also a good person as he was respected all over Sharjah.

Another thing that I liked about this book was that it also showed a father son relationship apart from a love story.

Lastly I would say that I also loved Sultan’s character. He was not the Sultan image I had in my mind. He seemed tyrannical but he had his reasons for it and by the end of the story they appeared quite justified too. Another point in his favour, he understood Fadiyah, Khalid’s ex fiancée’s desire to marry someone who is not of a comparable class even when her own father was against it.

Overall I would say that I loved this story and would definitely recommend it to all romance lovers.

If I Were Beautiful
Devon Hartford
(If I Were…, #1)
Publication date: January 23rd 2017

Is life better when you’re beautiful?

We all know that love isn’t about looks. Ask a hairless cat or someone’s pet toad. They find love. LOL

Jane Johnson has tried every beauty tip and trick known to woman, but none of them have ever made men notice her.

Until now.

Finally, something is working. She barely recognizes herself in the mirror. Is it her new haircut? Two years of yoga class? Her new eyebrow tweeze? Or is it all that nasty wheat grass juice her sister insisted she drink finally working some kind of magic? Whatever it is, something is transforming Jane from plain to downright beautiful.

For the first time in her life, men are noticing her.

Constantly.

Jane is getting so much attention from men she doesn’t know what to do with it.

Before her inexplicable transformation, she couldn’t get a date to save her life. Now she has a date every night of the week. Gorgeous eligible men are throwing themselves at her. They’re even fighting over her. Actual fist fights to win her affection.

It all seems too good to be true.

The only question on Jane’s mind is whether or not her newfound beauty is going to last or if it’s some cruel trick of fate that will fade away as quickly as it appeared.

Because everybody knows, when something seems too good to be true, it probably is.

***If I Were Beautiful is a saucy romance with a mystical twist that will leave you breathless to find out what happens next. This is book one of a three book series. Book two will release April 2017, Book three, July 2017 (or sooner).

GUEST POST

Does Love only come to good looking people?

We all know that love isn’t about looks. Ask a hairless cat or someone’s pet toad. They find love. LOL.

Yeah, yeah. I know we’re talking about romantic love between two people. Romance novel love. Prince Charming love. Last time I checked, Prince Charming was pretty freaking hot, right? Or is there a whole sub-genre of “average guy gets the girl” romance novels I don’t know about? Is there? Maybe there is. I don’t know. But I can’t think of a single romance novel I’ve read that had a guy who wasn’t a 10. Obviously, romance novels are about the fantasy.
My new novel If I Were Beautiful is all about that fantasy.

So, back to your question.

I really do think anyone and everyone can find love in real life if they’re open to it. It’s only when we write up a long list of criteria and expect our potential mate to meet everything on the checklist that we run the risk of never finding love. Or if we expect to find a real life Prince Charming.

But we’re talking about fantasy love, the love that exists between the pages of millions of romance novels.

Jane Johnson, the “every girl” heroine of If I Were Beautiful, isn’t looking for romance novel love. That’s right, is NOT. She’s 29 and has a relationship history with men. Not the best, but she knows real love is out there. She’s not looking for perfect. She’s just looking for a good man. But we want her to find romance novel love, don’t we? Fantasy love. Prince Charming love. I know that’s what I want for Jane. The only question is, how is an average girl like her going to find her Perfect 10 Prince Charming? By turning impossibly beautiful, that’s how.

Everything should turn up roses after that, right?

Wrong.

The whole point of If I Were Beautiful is that, although Jane turns gorgeous, her life blows up in her face. From the moment she wakes up beautiful, problems ensue. Sure, she has gorgeous romance novel men throwing themselves at her: Bad Boy Prince Charming types, Super Rich Prince Charming types, etc. All of them are trying to win her affection like any good Prince Charming should. But that doesn’t mean things go smoothly for Jane. In a word: drama.

Drama, drama, drama.

Who doesn’t want to see hot men fighting over the heroine?

Raise your hand if you do NOT want to see hot men fight over the heroine?
Anybody?
Nobody?
Crickets chirping.
My point exactly.

But that’s only the beginning of Jane’s problems.

Because Jane has suddenly turned beautiful without any rational explanation, and because the Prince Charmings meet her only after she’s already turned gorgeous, she’s constantly afraid they will lose interest in her the second she turns back to normal.

Jane knows she can find love no matter what she looks like.

But can she keep the love of a Prince Charming if she isn’t a Princess Charming herself?

That’s just the tip of the iceberg waiting for you within the pages of If I Were Beautiful. And, because it’s a Devon Hartford romance, you will find a generous helping of snarky banter, sexual tension, and steamy scenes. But those are just bonus.

Buy it for the steam.

Read it for the story.

REVIEW

Cash’s brother died two years ago. After that he was just dragging on his existence. He started bunking classes and stopped paying much attention to his academics. Then his father stopped paying for his expenses and he had to pay for his college fees on his own. But he was penniless. In the process of trying to earn, he ended up accepting a weird opportunity that changed his life.

I would start off by saying that The F student was quick, enjoyable read. The love story of Cash and Trudy, the T.A was cute and romantic. I would also say that I quite liked Trudy’s strong woman character, apart from Cash and Shaggy’s (Cash’s friend) characters.

The F student has fight, romance tale, friendship tale, and also jealousy and revenge. All these elements made this book fairly engaging and worth reading.

I would like to add that in a few sections of the novel, the events occurred a bit too quickly, so the emotions of these sections didn’t register well with me, hence I was not able to relish these portions properly.

Overall I would say that The F student was a nice story and would recommend it to New Adult readers.

Desire starts triumphing my rationality.
I’m throwing all of my rules out the window.
I’ll deal with the repercussions when the gas tank runs dry.

REVIEW:

Libby is appointmend as the secretary of pop star, Knox Rivers. She is quite determined to not change their professional relationship into something else. But after Libby shoots a video with Knox and then a world tour together, Libby and Knox fall in love with each other. However a relationship between them is difficult owing to Knox’s travelling job along with a whole lot of female attention and Libby’s ever haunting past and her fears.

This novel gives a sneak peek into the life of a pop star, how the constant presence of paparazzi wherever they go create a havoc in their life. Pop stars are not allowed to live a normal life. Everyone is interested in their personal lives and magazines and tabloids earn a lot by printing stories about them that are far from the truth. How these cause a problem in their personal lives and how these people can be a total different person than that is said through these magazines is beautifully expressed through this story.

“You don’t always see the real person behind all of the headlines. Why don’t they write about this amazing man who visits children fighting terminal cancer, who helps pay medical bills for those who can’t afford treatment, or who agrees to every Make-A-Wish?”

Both Knox and Libby have strong characters, with an unfortunate past, failed relationships and bad parent.

Libby shrugged away from having relationships because she feared that she might end up heartbroken again. Knox tried hard to prove that he won’t break her heart. The way they finally end up together was nice to know.

I laughed through their playful sex talk and Knox’s flirting. I also felt heartbreaken at moments when Libby’s dilemma and fear of having her heart broken created strong hard hitting emotions. But these moments, I felt were a bit scanty. Mostly those emotionally hard hitting parts were in the latter half of the novel. I felt both Libby’s and Knox’s emotions were a little left out and paid a little less attention to. So that is what I didn’t like about the novel.

“I love you, Knox. You own me – mind, body, and soul, and I will give you my all. Be patient with me, but know that I’ll be here.”

This novel was kind of a jumble of few novels that I had read recently, and the many themes of this book were treated in those books in a much more alluring way. So eventually that made me lose interest in few parts. But that may not be the case with readers out their who have not read those books.

P.s, I would like to add that  I really liked Mia, Libby’s friend’s character, her funny and helping nature.

Overall I would say that the concept of the novel was nice and the love story was beautiful. I would recommend this novel to romance lovers.
